Homes with rooftop solar in the evening light

A battery decision is a system decision. Bring your usage, inverter details and priorities together before comparing offers.

01 / What matters

Capacity and power do different jobs.

Usable capacity (kWh) describes stored energy; output (kW) limits what can run at once. Compare both with your evening use and appliances.

Ask before you decide“What usage data supports the proposed battery size?”

02 / What matters

Backup is a design choice.

A battery does not automatically keep everything running in a blackout. The equipment and circuit arrangement determine what can be backed up.

Ask before you decide“Which circuits will work during an outage, and what extra equipment is included?”

03 / What matters

Check the whole combination.

Confirm the exact battery, inverter, meter and software combination. Amber’s checker distinguishes battery control from solar control; setup conditions still apply.

Ask before you decide“Is this exact configuration supported by my intended provider today?”

04 / What matters

Read beyond the warranty headline.

Compare warranty conditions, energy-throughput limits and local support. Ask who handles a fault and whether labour or call-out costs are covered.

Ask before you decide“Can I see the full warranty and installation inclusions before paying?”

05 / What matters

Make the complete cost visible.

Ask for installed cost plus the bills that remain. The model should identify usage, tariff, losses, credits and any finance costs. Savings are not guaranteed.

Ask before you decide“Does this still make sense with lower credits or a different energy plan?”
